Academy of Television Arts and Sciences: UCLA Archives
The Archives, housed in UCLA's Department of Theatre Arts since 1965, are a central responsibility of the Academy Foundation. The Academy maintains a separate relationship with the UCLA Film & Television Archives in regard to videotapes
and kinescopes of classic TV programs.

Online and in-person courses. The course tend to be expensive but offer unusual access to working professionals. Check the instructors' credits and see if you want to learn from them before you sign up.

Independent Feature Project(IFP) and IFP/West
This U.S. organization has been instrumental in defining independent filmmaking and educating aspiring filmmakers for 20 years. Both IFP and IFP/W offer seminars, and the IFP holds an annual market that includes activities for screenwriters. They are excellent resources for hearing the players speak about basic issues and changing trends in the development process (selling your screenplay) for film and television, issues of representation (agents) and legal affairs.

Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF)
More emphasis on advocacy and education than the IFP, a more grassroots style, and on the scene since before it was a scene. Also publishes magazine The Independent Film & Video Monthly.
